1) What is your budget? Maybe around 1700-2000
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
c. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
d. Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen
3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
Anything and everything
4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk? Sometimes to class, or if im going somewhere like back home for a break id like to carry this instead of my desktop.
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
Yeah, i dont have the latest but i want great game performance
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
I want HP cuz they give me a student discount. The 2 i was eying were the dv8000t and the dv9000t, i want the core2duo
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
3 or 4 hours is fine, ill probably get an extra battery
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
No, would be fine.

Build Quality and Design
13) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
Somewhat, doesn't need to be covered in gold and platnum with diamonds on the keyboard keys... but i dont want it looking like a cheap plastic box either. Middle ground is fine :)
14) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?
Well i want it to last 4 years, as far as when im getting it it's still up in the air.

I would recommend against the 17" for taking it to class and all over. The HP nc8430 is a great choice for you in 15.4"

The HP nc8430 is a businss-class machine and should be very portable. It should be available with a Core 2 Duo soon.
And for non-HP: Asus Z96J, Compal HEL80.
