dell e1405 options & battery life

Question:
dell e1405 options & battery life
The e1405 seems to be a pretty good value for a non-gaming notebook <$1K.
I like the wxga --> glossy wxga+ (1280x800 --> 1440x900) for +$20
Reviews say ~8hrs mobilemark with the 9-cell 85WHr battery with T5500. How much this battery pushes the weight above nominal 5.3lbs, I don't know.
Dell gives options on processor, screen and memory, but no information to make good decisions if battery life is the priority.
Dell offers only 533 MHz memory although the core 2 duos have a 667 MHz fsb. Is the MB unable to handle 667 MHz? Dell sales are useless with such questions.
What is the impact of processor choice T5500-->T7200 on battery life? Certainly you CAN drain a battery faster with the faster chip if you run it flat out, but how about if you are word processing or watching a dvd? Can the speedstep and power-management throttle clock, etc., to get the same work done for the same cost?
Has anyone seen mobilemark or the like of identical laptops with different core 2 duos?
Does wxga --> wxga+ impact battery life? I don't think much.

Re: dell e1405 options & battery life
question 1) the way that the core 2 duo works is that it only uses all of its power when it needs it... So that means if you're surfung the internet the T5500 will take up as much power as the T7200 will.
question 2) HUH?
question 3) wxga to wxga+ will take few or no minutes off of the battery life.

Thanks for the reply
Is the power management really as good in practice as in theory? Didn't XP have some issues? The 2M-->4M cache step between T5500 and T7200 certainly ups the transister count. I wonder what the overall impact is. Maybe you save disk access.
Any thoughts on Dell's refusal to sell 667-MHz memory?
