Re: Celeron M?
Any computer within the last 2 years will be able to that pretty well (more ram is better if you intend to run more apps).... Celeron M would be more than enough for those needs.
I still use an old P3-700 desktop and it can do about 90% of what my laptop can currently do.

Re: Celeron M?
I believe the current celeron-m's are Pentium-m but without the power saving feature and runs at 100fsb so its still a pretty powerful cpu...
It should be fine but I would get an additional 512mb ram.
What laptop are you considering?

Re: Celeron M?
basically i'm going to get something on sale at either CC or BB this sunday. i'm going with the 3 years warranty and i just need something to surf and play poker on and such. compaq/gateway/toshiba. if there is something on sale with a core solo or amb turion, i'll probably go with that. but if the only stuff on sale is celeron m, i'm gonna give it a shot. i just want a reliable notebook to play around on and follow fantasy football stats at bars etc. thoughts?

Re: Celeron M?
I have a Celeron (much older CPU), I have this notebook close to two years, and still plenty of power to do normal stuffs, not high end gaming or anything like that. Celeron M will served you well.
