I'm debating between these two for a couple of days...

basically need to know which has better all-around build quality... but here are my specs:
1) What is your budget?
$750
2) What size notebook would you prefer?

3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
INTERNET AND WORD PROCESSING, MIGHT WANT TO WATCH DVD'S

Why are you considering a Dell if you don't like it or HP? Since you want build quality, Asus and Lenovo Thinkpad are the names that come to mind. I've no experience with the N100 but I will never buy another Dell laptop again, that's for sure. I would go for a Thinkpad or Asus for build quality, but your budget might render that impossible, unless you want to forgo Core Duo. Do you run many programs at the same time? (as in, lots of firefox tabs, AIM, winamp/itunes, word processor, etc all at the same time) if not, at least consider an older thinkpad from lenovo or from their outlet. If you want something that lasts, that's the route I would go.
And by the way, if you're commuting with your computer everyday, consider the 14" screen instead of the 15". It's much lighter and still, in my opinion, a perfectly capable screen for a notebook.
