Athlon 64 X2 or 64 FX
I am looking to buy a Sager 9750, gonna use it primarily for gaming and wondering which processor would be better.

To be honest buying a laptop with a desktop processor just makes no sense when mobile chips are just as powerful and consume a fraction of the power (meaning good battery life) and put out no where near as much heat.
Just for the record though the Athlon "FX" chips tend to be grossly overpriced and are usually never worth the premium they demand.

I like the Core duo from intel but they are still only 32 bit.
$540 does sound very overpriced to me too.

The Core 2's are 64bit capable. The Core Duo's aren't.
In any case, I would agree with brain it is not worth the premium for the performance difference is pretty minimal.
