well if you want a get a big screen check this out :)
i am nearsighted too and this i am sure is beautiful(i have not actually een one yet...)
or if that is just toooo big try this one.
and if you don't like AMD
if you look at all of these computers; i like acer, mine has lasted for the last 1.3 years with the exception of a crack in the case with acer repair in a week without problems at all i was only on hold for 3 minutes which is quite good for most manufactures.
hope that gives you some options.

I've seen one of these in person and I must say it was impressive. Can't see it being very practical for repeated travel, but if you're just going to lug it around the house it would be nice!

you could also check out the sony ar, toshiba p100/p105 or dell e1705. the hp dv9000t is a nice one as well. for something more durable, the hp nx9420 is a good option. it has business quality build, meaning hd shock protection, spill-resistant keyboard, magnesium alloy chassis.

Bump...
OK, thanks to all the posts I've decided against a notebook with a 20" screen. No Alienware 9700 (not for my type of gaming.
What I have found out is that 17" screens are where it's at.
I need a dual core proccessor.
A single FAT graphics card for my sometime gaming (and drawing).
Oh, and at minimum 1gig ram 2 is better.
So... with that in mind what do you recommend?
See first post for other info.
THANKS!!
