Re: help me pick something please...
well, it depends on what kind of gaming performance you want. for the highest level available (7900 gtx), take a look at the sager 5760 or dell xps 1710 (check out techaholic's deals in the for sale forum for some decent prices). for mid-level gaming (x1600/7600go)i would check out the sony ar or maybe even the toshiba qosmio (unsure if it comes with wuxga, though).

Re: help me pick something please...
The Sager NP5760 is a wonderful gaming notebook, but it only manages about two hours on battery. It's a respectable time though, given that it has an 8-cell battery driving a 17" display and Go7900GTX video card (high power consumption).
It doesn't look like you are that demanding of a gamer . . UT2004 runs on almost anything, although not sure about '07. I would look at the HP nx9420 if you want to save a bit of cash, or the HP dv9000t if you want something more multimedia-oriented.
The Dell E1705 will give you the best performance for the price, but is rather generic in terms of design, and lacks a numpad. Go7900GS is a beast though . . .

Re: help me pick something please...
I really like the SAGER NP5760 recommendation. It's an amazing machine at a great price. You'd be hard pressed to get 3+ hours on a 17" gaming machine--maybe it's possible on an HP nx9420 or dv9000t with the 12-cell battery. Gaming battery life is generally half that. And the HP's don't have nearly as much GPU power as the Sager--but they may be enough for your gaming needs depending on what other games you are looking to play (UT 2007 may be rather demanding).
But if you need top-notch performance--the Sager is definitely worth consideration.

this is one of the best suggestions so far as OP has claimed anything but a dell hp or gateway...

the dell i'd see why but the e1705 with 7900gs is a beast as chaz claims... the xps 1710 is definitely worth a look as it is a higher quality dell... and the hp dv9000T is a great suggestion but 2 things a) limited to go 7600 gpu and b) OP says no hp... check alienware... (though i doubt battery life will be more than 2 hours (around 1-1.5-2)
ok alienware will definitely not give you
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
at least 3 hours
