A similarly configured D820 or nc8430 will offer the the same performance. The superior build quality, support, keyboard, ThinkVantage tools are what sets them apart.

If you are looking for business-class 15.4" notebooks, I will add the Fujitsu E8210 into the mix.
Both of the machines ZaZ mentioned are really well constructed. The ThinkPad Z61M is a bit heavy so make a note of that.
