IBM T60 or R60 or Z61m ????

Question:
IBM T60 or R60 or Z61m ????
Hi All,
Since the last few days i am looking for an IBM Laptop to Buy. I am stuck between R60, T60 and Z61 m. Few Facts:
1. I am not a hardcore gamer but like games as NFS Underground Black Edition and play occasionally.
2. I want that my notebook should run Vista well.
3. I will carry my notebook almost daily to my workplace.
4. I want a stylish notebook preferably Black in color.
5. I will run application like VS.Net, ArcGIS, SQL Server 2000, Some Games, etc
I have configured following within my budget:
T60 = 1.83GHz, 1 GB RAM, 100 GB HDD, XP Home, 14.1 inch SXGA+, 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 , Combo Drive, 9 Cell Battery. ($1578)
R60 = 2.0GHz, 1 GB RAM, 100 GB HDD, XP Home, 15 inch SXGA+, 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 , Combo Drive, 9 Cell Battery. ($ 1608)
Z61m = 1.83GHz, 1 GB RAM, 100 GB HDD, XP Home, 15.4 inch WSXGA+, 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 , Combo Drive, 9 Cell Battery. ($1518)
Tell me are all of the above models come with builtin Bluetooth or not ? Its not mentioned in the final specs except T60.
Please Advice on 1 out of these 3.
Thanx.

Will this T43 be vista capable and whats going to be the difference between 1.83 Dual core and M 760 here ?

Re: IBM T60 or R60 or Z61m ????
You can find the R60 a lot cheaper than that in the right config.
The difference between the R and Z is Z is widescreen and offers titanium lid. It's also more expensive and uses better materials (magnesium alloy as opposed to plastic, I believe.)
The diff between the R and T is the T offers more useless gizmos and is made of really nice magnesium alloy again. This makes the T thinner and lighter than the somewhat heavy R (about 7lbs with AC I believe.) It's also way more expensive.
The FireGL is only useful for people who do 3D modelling and 3D professional applications. For most people the X1400 is not only cheaper but probably more functional.
T43 is very Vista capable, and is very capable in general. However, considering you can get a dual core R60 for the same price or cheaper, I would think it would be preferable to get one. If you don't need lots of power though, then the T43 might be a better buy than the R60 because it is lighter and thinner.
I would say go for the R60 unless you are dying to blow off some money. The advantages of the Z and T-series don't justify the additional money spent. Look for cheaper configs with Lenovo, especially with less RAM, then just buy the RAM yourself for way cheaper.

Here's another thread indicating differences between the models:

The R series doesn't have the magnesium alloy roll cage. They're still built well, but this does mean it's all plastic and not as rigid. Since you can afford better, get better.
Evil Sheep, what do you mean by useless gizmos? fingerprint scanner? wwan? bluetooth? All of those look useful to me, and all of them are optional. The main selling points of the T are the smaller size/weight, and the more rigid construction. The R is an entry level notebook, the T is the flagship. The Z is essentially the T in widescreen.
My 15" T60 is 5.8lbs plus the AC, the 14" is closer to 5lbs. You can expect the R series to be about half a pound heavier for comparable screen sizes. There's no benefit to the R except price. I love my T. It's a great combination of size and performance. I'd suggest either it or the Z, depending on your aspect ratio preference.
Looking at your usage, definitely go for dual core, it's worth the money. A lot of the apps you mentioned are multithreaded, and you'll also love the second core for multitasking and reducing Windows overhead.
Regarding bluetooth and things like that, check out the sticky in the Lenovo forum. The tabook linked there will give you specs of all current preconfigured models. If you see discrepancies between it and model listings from stores make sure you investigate further.

Of the 3 you mentioned, the choice is easy... 14" T60, because you're carring it to work daily. So do NOT get the R or the Z61m.
Repeat buyers of laptops most often get lighter and smaller the next time. Witness the boom in the 12"-13" notebook category. There's no substitute for portability IF you're gonna be mobile frequently. For me, who's owned many T-series thinkpads, now even the the T-series feels like a huge brick (my new thinkpad measures 70 cubic inches compared to 120 cubic inches for my 14" T43)
