Adice on buying a laptop ? please help
Hey ppl,
I was thinking of buying this laptop ; http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default...DUCT&KEY=68489
But i dont know if it will be good enough to run games like WoW and Cs source on medium - low settings, or high if it can.
If not i am looking for a laptop which costs under £600 and can play the games above on a good frame rate.

Gaming wise the x1600 will dominate by a huge margin and if you upgrade the ram for £30 you have a beast. However quality of the notebook is unknown and there is a delay on delivery.

again better than your choice for same price. The 7300 is a step from the x200 but still doesnt compare with the x1600 in the zoo.
There are a lot better deals than that one from mesh.
Look at laptops direct though as they are really good value for money

:D u legend, the second one looks excellent for the price, what is the graphics card like on the second link. Will it be able to run CS source and WoW and maybe pushing it a bit but BF 2 on lowest settings ??.

the x1600 will play bf2 on highish settings with normal clocks but that one may be slightly uderclocked. So at least medium settings i think.
So for source and wow you should be high to very high settings.
I would defs upgrade the ram though if your playing bf2. It uses a hell of a lot of ram.

Ermm im not to sure about the upgrading ram part to much hassle, would BF still run well with out the ram boost??.

I don't think BF2 will run that well without 1gb of RAM. But it isn't too expensive right? Just make sure you get another with same specifications as the one that is already in the laptop.

I really do think adding an extra 512 mb of ram will help a lot. It really isnt that difficult as there is already a slot free so all you need to do is ask pcnext day the speed of the ram and then get another stick from dabs or savastore for £30 and slot it in. Otherwise it wont be the gpu in bf2 holding you back but the ram. You will be able to play it but it will be a bit jittery.
Im not sure about the frame rates but it well certainly be playable on med settings with the extra ram.
