if the lg t1 can be gotten with $1500 with discounts, that would be a nice choice. of course thinkpads have excellent builds, but i don't think you can find a decent speced t60 in your price range. fujitsu s7110 is nice too, though i worry it won't fit your budget either.

HP nc6400 is a buiness line 14.1" dual core notebook.
Specific configs would get this below your price range.
It's the model I'm looking at now.
HP nc2400 is the business line 14.1" notebook so its worth a look alsl.
