Question:
Extended Warranties...Worthwhile?
I just wanted to hear what others think about extended warranties from a company like dell or HP. Is it worth almost 150 bucks for an extra year, and over 200+ for 2 more years on a warranty?
Budget is a very limiting constraint on my computer, and the price of most extended warranties raise my overall cost by more than 10%.
Opinions, comments, and past experiences are encouraged.

for me, it was definitely worth it. my old notebook was a rebranded clevo notebook. i had to take it in once every year for repairs except for the 4th year when it just crapped out and i didn't want to pay $60 for shipping.

Definitely. I mean, if anything goes wrong, a small replacement could cost over 200 bucks. So the 200+ you spend on it is really worth it.

100%. If anything goes wrong, and it will, the warrenty'll cover your butt. You buy insurance for a car, so why not a notebook? Its still considered a big budget item to many.
