Apple can be taken seriously as business usage?

Question:
Apple can be taken seriously as business usage?
Can it be seriously taken that Apple laptops like Macbook and Macbook pro can be used for extreme business usage? Why is it that all businessmen will go with a thinkpad or sony and not an Apple?

apples can't really match the battery life that other notebooks give, especially since they don't make extended batteries. also, there are probably software compatibility issues and also server issues for large companies. not to mention, thinkpads are very durable and withstand travel wear much better.

I've owned both a Thinkpad and a Macbook.
What can I say, Thinkpads build quality is much better than Macbooks. Also the battery life is better. For instance, for a Thinkpad T43, the battery level remains at 100% for almost 2 weeks, for Macbook its only less than a week.
Also, speaking of the brands, Apple is a bit different because it's using OS X. You couldn't use Windows on Apple machines until the Intel switch which only happened a year ago.
I'm working in a web design / development company and all of our designers are using Macs. :) (Poor web developers including myself are still on Windows XP)
