Dell Inspiron E1505

Question:
Dell Inspiron E1505
Hello All,
I seem to have almost narrowed down on my choice of laptop, the 'Dell E1505'
Firstly, I will be using the laptop mainly for business and entertainment purposes (DVD's/Music/Photos). I am NOT going to use it for gaming at all.
Following is the configuration :
----------------------------
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T7200 (4MB Cache/2.00GHz/667MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center 2005 Edition with re-installation CD
15.4 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen SXGA+ Display with TrueLife™
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz, 2 Dimm
120GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
128MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1300 HyperMemory™
Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy™ HD Software Edition
53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
Dell Nylon Deluxe Carrying Case
Hi-Speed: Dell Draft N Wireless
Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal (2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)
Please advise on the following :
1.
I am confused on the screen to chose
WXGA with Trulife VS. WUXGA Ultrasharp quality
Whats the difference? Just the resolution or is it the clarity. Dell support says the WUXGA is digital. I am not used to a resolution that is higher than 1024x768 currently. So if the difference is resolution only then i may as well go with WXGA with trulife. Please advise.
2.
Is Sound Blaster Audigy really helpful? Does it improve sound quality? Worth the spend?
3.
Do i need ATI Mobility Radeon if i am not going to do any gaming? Does it helps in entertainment like watching DVD's?
4.
Is Draft N Wireless really going to be faster? I would want to really opt for Intel PRO Wireless.
Furthermore, please feel free to provide any overall advice on the configuration listed above. Any additions or subtractions are welcome to help me make the correct choice.
Also i am not buying MS Office installation from dell. I wish to do it with a licensed version that i already have. Hope there is no problem upgrading this on my own. Same with antivirus. Please advise.
I am ordering the laptop from India which is going to be shipped to CA. My cousin is bringing it to India for me. Dell is pushing me for a 4 year international warranty. Good to go for it. I am going to use the laptop in India.
Looking forward to feedback from the experts. Thanking you in anticipation.

TruLife is glossy. Glossy screens are coated making the sharper and much more vibrant. They do however procude more glare. You shoud check some out of each if you can. If you are used to XGA, WXGA is probably the way to go.
If you don't game, you proabably don't need the card.
Unless you have a N router it won't make much of a difference.
If you buy the laptop in the US and use it in India without the international warranty you may have to ship it back to get it fixed.

There is no need to choose Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy™ HD Software Edition. This is a software and it is not improve quality of sound much.

i would get the x1400 just to be more future-proof

Re: Dell Inspiron E1505
Do i need ATI Mobility Radeon if i am not going to do any gaming? Does it helps in entertainment like watching DVD's? The Ati's video cards have technologies (AVIVO) for smooth playback so yes the video card helps watching DVD's... and it's more future-proof than the GMA 950..

Re: Dell Inspiron E1505
1. If you're used to XGA, WUXGA is going to be a huge step in resolution, making everything much much smaller. Go with the WXGA, it'll be much more comfortable and cheaper for you.
2. It's cheap, but it is only software. In reality, laptop speakers are bad no matter what, and if you want good quality sound at home during music or movie playback, just get a set of external speakers.
3. Its good for movie playback. the x1300 isn't a good card (almost intergrated), so you won't be spending too much for it anyways. Also, its required if you ever want to upgrade to Windows Vista (thus more futureproof), but the x1400 would probably work better.
4. Draft N is pretty much useless except at home, thus the "draft" name. It's not a standard, and unless you get an exactly compatable Draft N router at home, it won't work. Also, Wireless N isn't going to make the internet faster for anyone compared to Wireless G. Broadband Internet only runs at 5mbps tops in most places, while Wireless G can handle from 54-100+mbps (theoretically), which is more than enough. The extra speeds are just for moving files from computer to computer in your own home network (more useful in the business setting), as well as having a better range. You won't find compatability anywhere else (airport, coffee shop, etc.). Go for the Intel PRO Wireless, it's cheaper (router and adapter wise) and will actually be of use. Once Wireless N becomes more mainstream, you can always upgrade.
*The standard is probably going to be whatever Intel ues with its new Centrino brand (Santa Rosa) in the first quarter of 2007 (spring).

Hello All,
Thank you for prompt replies from all of you here.
It has immensely helped make me a decision on the addons mentioned.
One question :
Apart from resolution does WUXGA mean better clarity?
Also what screen finish is good? Gloss OR Matt ?
Thanks again,
