Help needed for a total newb
Hello,
I'm new here and on my way to become a notebook owner.
I do spend a lot of time on the computer, but I have no clue when it comes to buying new ones or the technical aspects of it. So I, a mere mortal have to ask for help ; ). I do hope that someone here can help me : D

1) What is your budget?
700 euro that's 875.980 dollar : )
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
c. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
Everything from gaming to school work to messing around with photoshop
4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
Mostly on my desk, but I do travel a lot in the summer and I would like to take my notebook with me.
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
Civilization IV
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
I would rather not want to buy a Dell or Acer.
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
This isn't really that important. 2 hours or something like that :)

You're budget is just a little low. You'll find yourself looking at what we like to call "value" notebooks. If you were able to spend around $1000, I'd suggest Sony's FJ series. It's a 14" mainstream notebook, and it's really a pretty good deal. Configure it at SonyStyle.com to get the best price.
