I did configure a dell xps m1710 for abt 3600$ wid the T2500, xp pro, 2gb ddr 667mhz, 80gb sata 7200rpm, 512mb 7900gtx, wuxga screen, red color edition, dvd-rw, 9-cell battery, nylon case, bluetooth, 2yr warranty.
Is it a good deal?

Check out the Sager 5760, it now comes with a 7900 gtx 512 card. You can configure it out a lot cheaper then the dell. I just placed the order for mine today.

I guess so. It looks like your sort of buying the most "extreme" version and aren't getting the most bang for your buck.
You could get the equivalent inspiron e1705 with a 256 mb go 7900gs for closer to 2 grand. Also, you can use coupons on the inspirons. It may not be quite as extreme, but you have to ask yourself if those extra frames are worth $1500. Also, if you buy the HDD and memory upgrades yourself you'll save a few hundred dollars more.
EDIT: Yeah, what ashenor said. I think sagers may have a better rep for this kind of high-end gaming rig too.
