business notebook
I have an assignment for a class at school to select a business laptop for a sales department with a 1000 personnel. I would like the expert opinion of you notebook gurus. Thanks in advance for your help. Here's my FAC
1) What is your budget? 800- 2000
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
b. Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook? Sales presentations, customer tracking, e-mail
4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk? Taking with me
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games? No
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? Prefer Dell business class, or Thinkpad HP
7) How many hours of battery life do you need? 4+
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person? By on line
9) What country are you buying this in? USA

10) Would you prefer standard or widescreen? No preference

a. XGA -1024x768 - Large and easy to read text + graphics icons, but you fit less stuff on the screen.
b. SXGA - 1400x1050 - Compromise resolution between XGA and UXGA.

Check out the HP NC6400. This should fit the bill nicely and runs from $1199-$1499 depending on configuration. You can find it in the small and medium business section of www.hp.com. Good luck!

The Thinkpad T60 seems to be the best notebook for you. Thinkpad build quality and performance can't be beat.

ThinkPad T-series, probaably the T60 as .zoXan. said. also, you can go with the Dell Latitude D620, or the HP Compaq NC6400. I still say ThinkPad because ThinkPad is synonymous with business.
