Re: errr what notebook should i buy?
The HP dv5000t is a good notebook for $1,000. You are not going to get better than a Go7400 or X1400 video card for your budget; both have similar performance.
The Dell E1505 will give you more for the money but will not have the quality or design of the HP.

Re: errr what notebook should i buy?
i've been lookin at e1505's lately but not completely satisfied with the price after all the upgrades and i dunno about the performance of the 256mb graphics card. for the hp dv 5000t i think i skimmed over it but didn't notice much cuz i saw the z. i know amd's are usually better for gaming but thats all in the desktop world... i was wondering what would be better for me now and in the future the core duo vs. turion x2's. i know the intels top out the turions on l2 cache and thats kinda important for gaming from what i know... someone correct/guide me in the right direction. thanks again for all the help, much appreciated!

Re: errr what notebook should i buy?
Keep in mind the E1505 would probably be around .3 lbs lighter. Also, there was a comparison chart i read in a magazine where it listed hp service as worst and dell in the middle. I think IBM was number 1

I think Chaz said it all. You don't have many options for $1000.
Duo will probably multi task better and is more energy efficient than the AMDs.
I would go with a e1505...

Re: errr what notebook should i buy?
There are a very limited number of Turion X2 notebooks out there, and none in the US with real dedicated graphics yet. More will probably come in the future, but for now, you're stuck with what is out there. The Core Duo is the better choice.
