compare?

Question:
compare?
right. i posted here a while ago, thaks for the reply's. but i changed my mind and i thought id do a bit more looking into it, do a little more research and raise my options. ok. my buget is now about £1000. thats GB pounds for everyone else.
i wont go into detail, i know a fair bit into gaming cards and memory and whatever there is. mind you, the fact that i havent looked into asus just came into mind. but maybe you guys can shoot out some recommndations there? right, thais company EVESHAM is U.K based. from what i researched, this laptop is based on the MSI (cant remeber code name) platform. (thats the turion by the way) and its closest rival is a pentium duo core. right here are the links and u guys can just judge and see which is best.
by looking at the specs i dont need to tell you my uses. its typical stuff, gaming, burning, image editing, a little video editing ( and i know this is where the duo core is best) burning cd's etc etc.
hey, another thing that jsut came into mind is: should i wait for a turion x2? if yeah, then how long is the wait going to be? prices? and performance compared to its closest rival...the duo core? aaaaaaand most importantly, how available is it before september the 25th of this year?
here are the links for the two im looking at:

http://www.evesham.com/products/info...0-6854A4AA83A9
any better views or recommendations are more then welcome. and my apologies abotu my grammer and punctuation, i really cant be bothered, and my shift key stopped working!
thanks guys

Re: compare?
Of these two, I would recommend the one with the Intel Processor as you will get better performance with core duo than with a regular turion processor. Other than that, these two systems look very similar. Good luck!

Re: compare?
The X2's are out right now - they were released in may and should be competitvely priced. The core duo should be equal in performance to the x2. Since your budget is £1000, are looking to get something poweful (for gaming) and want it to last (looks like a uni deadline the 25th), i would recommend:
Asus A6T for £999
AMD Mobile Turion 64X2 TL52
1024MB DDRII 667Mhz Memory
100GB Hard Drive
256MB nVidia Geforce GO 7600 Graphics
15.4" WXGA (1280x800)
from http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default...DUCT&KEY=91970
This laptop is very powreful now and has 64bit support for the future, did i mention it comes with wi-fi, bluetooth, webcam/mic and 2 years insurance?

This laptop is very powreful now and has 64bit support for the future, did i mention it comes with wi-fi, bluetooth, webcam/mic and 2 years insurance? ahhh maaaaan! am i loving THIS! competitive pricing? i didnt think it would be THIS good THIS early! this is brilliant. even if this isnt a perfect choice to me, id still go for it merely on its spc and appeal. alright, i got a few question if you can answer them, i know a bit, but i take it you know far more. you guessed that i like gaming, the GO7600. is it dedicated, or does it differ from notebook to notebook? and graphical comparison? does it perform better then the x1600. or am i just nitpicking ehre because thyre so similar?
i can see that the X2 runs a 1.6ghz. the evesham had a an MT-37. which was a 2.0ghz. i know its dual core now, but will there be any higher ones any time soon like intels. i swear they go all the way up to 2.10? or was it 1.83? dont get me wron, i think ill be more then satisfied with 1.6. i suppose its just a curiosity thing!
ok, memory runs at 667mhz. thats much betetr then the evesham. ohohoh, which reminds me, i know i could look it up, but can you or anyone tell me at what spped the GO7600 runs? i know its 256mhz. im a bit of a newb here. but wasnt it clocked at soemthing like 375mhz? or was that the 512mb one?
hehe. close unough. its not a uni deadline but work deadline. i quit work on the 25th. and my induction day for uni is on the 25th! hehe. all good!
oh, and get a load of this, since MESH stock ASUS. thats a double for me! MESH is only down the road from me!
thanks for your help! hey, any further views are more then welcome! you can see from _radditz_'s post as to what im looking for! :D

Re: compare?
The A6T has a go7600 with 256 dedicated VRAM. I dont know if its GDDR2 or 3. The go7600 has no turbocache feature according to Nvidia so that means its all dedicated.
The X2's do go up to 2.0GHz but i havent seen them on the market yet. You can find more details at AMD's website.
You can compare the speeds of different GPUs here:

Re: compare?
the c545 plus(memory runs at 667mhz) is very similar to the benq 73 and is the best 14" gaming laptop in the UK as the w3j is too expensive and only comes with a 4200rpm drive and the A8jm/a are impossible to find.
I've got the c545 plus on order now as i bought a 64 bit processer two years ago and nothing has happened. Depending on how long u want ur notebook to last i would give the turion x2 a miss. Especially as it wont be as fast and prices will drop as notebook with x2's become more widely available.

Especially as it wont be as fast and prices will drop as notebook with x2's become more widely available. thants what im thinking now...ive done a ittle more research into the TX2 and everyone seems to be saying that its a bit of a rough diamond by AMD. seems like they just did what intel did with the prescott. more of a miss then a hit! ive gone off the c545 plus cos its a 14". i know i know. its got stonking specs. but ive already got a 14". im not looking for another. im more into teh mid range 15.4" or maaaaaaaaybe a 17"?
at any rate. the TX2 is losing appeal every minute. theres a review (early and kinda short, but seems to hit all the right spots) somwhere which compares the tx2 with a core duo and the latter just wins everwhere! i mean, i know pretty much everyone wont use any processor to its limits, but that just put me off! plus theres something CHAZMAN said here about its architecture ( whcih im learning aobut) thats it actually uses an old thing thing, something thing k8 thing!
yah! in any way...i think i might just forget aobut the TX2 for now.....maybe next year or soemthing!
so what now? a core duo? maybe something higher then 1.83ghz? that would be ideal! any reccomms? im MORE then welcome now! cos i just need help now!
p.s i gotta say, ASUS suse make some fine looking beasts! and thyre nicely priced too! i mean...not in the acer or dell league, but thyre nicely priced!

Well instead of the x2 u can get this:
http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/ASUS_.../version-1.asp
Same thing but cheaper and a 1.83 core duo. That came a very close second place when i was ordering my laptop (c545 won because it was more portable) and its just gone down by £70. Bargain if you ask me.

And if you want a 17 " then this is a crazy price for a x1800 dual core 17" laptop:

alrigth, first up...great 15.4" really great, only prob is that theres so much competition like it in that catagory, it dosnt seem to break andything new, and i seem to feel that if i did jsut a little bit more research i could find something better specced!
as for the second! WOW! POWERHOUSE! seriously, last time i checked the x1800 was a complete sweet nut! im just not that familiar with fujitsu? and problems, advice on them? but keep the info coming. i found some ZEPTO'S whci were quite appealing, if they actually HAD the parts in stock!
any more advice? so far, its still in the balance. the tx2 still holds some respect from me! but the dup core si winning. i dont care what it is. as long as it lasts and is sturdy and blah blah blah, you know the rest!
thanks. i see evesham seem to get fantastic reviews, no dells, because they just suck! sony's? waaaaaaay too expenive and thyre not specced well. ummm....yeah. thats it. im still looking into a few. mainly asus at the mo. im liking their 17" notebooks, but i dotn think ive ever seen one. how big are they?
