To sum it up I just bought an Averatec 4000 from costco.com it was 750 dollars after rebates and im pretty happy with it. Its a little too big and it gets extremely hot. Also, the battery only last like 2 and a half hours. Im going to return it because it has a few dead pixels so I'm trying to decide if I should get an Averatec 1000? All I'm looking for is a small laptop that is stylish and can play warcraft 3. thanks!!

Re: Averatec 1000 or 4000?
The AVERATEC 1000 w/Pentium M ULV fits the bill nicely, and falls easily within your price range, but let me warn you that WXGA on a 10.6" screen is tiny. I don't mean slightly smaller-than-usual icons; I mean tiny text, tiny icons, tiny everything. If you can get used to that, it's a good deal - you won't find many other subnotebooks at that price with the feature set of the 1050 - although you might want to consider adding more RAM if possible.

i think im going to get the averatec 1000 series but i cant decide on if its worth it to get the 1050. its 350 dollars more than the 1020 and the only difference is the processor. I don't know that much about computers so do you know if its worth spending that much more?

Sorry for reviving an old thread. The 1020 also has a 60 gig hard drive instead of the 80 gig in the 1050.
