1) What is your budget?
Under $1500 might spend an extra hundred
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
c. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
d. Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen
3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
Will be enrolling into computer engineering, so programming, web design, and etc. Will be gaming
4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
Mainly just to take it to class
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
Mainly Counterstrike Source, and some WC3, maybe WOW
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
Don't really like Dells but I dont really care.
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
Atleast two hours, will be getting an extra battery probraly.
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
Online is fine

I prefer a widescreen

Standard

c. UXGA - 1600x1200 - Very small text and graphics icons, you can fit lots of stuff on the screen.
Widescreen
d. WXGA or WXGA+ - 1280x768/800 or 1440x900; Wider viewing version of XGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
e. WSXGA+ - 1680x1050; Wider viewing version of SXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
f. WUXGA - 1920x1200; Wider viewing version of UXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.

Doesn't really matter to me.

Not a whole lot

Atleast three years or longer, want a solid computer

probraly around 80-100 but i am mainly looking for a 7200rpm hd
16) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD-ROM, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-RW drive?
I need one that does everything but lightscribe, dont' care for that.

(ASUS Z96J) does anyone know where they sell this computer. I've checked powernotebooks.com but they were sold out intill mid July. Can someone tell me another website that isn't backordered or if I should wait for a new model that is similar to this computer.

the z96j is not backordered. it is not available anywhere. it has yet to ship to north america.
