Those Notebooks from Hypersonic, Alienware and Sager are great but they are too expensive for me, I couldn't configure any one for less than $2500.00
I dont know much about mobile hardware.. but as far as I searched and learned (not much haha but..) .. my min. config. would be an:
Dual Core 2 T7200
1Gb (at least)
Nvidia Gf Go 7900GS 256mb (at least) or ATI Radeon X1800 256mb (Nvidia 7900GS is better or not?)
HD 100Gb 7200RPM
17" WSXGA+ BrightView (at least)
Questions:
- Can I get any thing better for $2,000.00??
- Wich one of those above is the best choice??
Thanks a lot guys

Re: $2,000.00 Notebook
You are doing almost the exact same research as I am. I had big hopes for alienwares sale today on their 17" area 51 laptop, but the $300 off seems to be somewhat of a wash since it still comes in at $2400 for me tweaked.
Here are my thoughts on the above:
Gateway: I liked this one, but haven't bought a gateway in a long time.
Dell: Lacks Gigabit ethernet and a full keyboard were the losers on this one for me.
Toshiba: I wouldn't buy a toshiba with your money, why would they move keys around like that. I had a personal experience with their tech support that put them on my ban list.
HP: This is another so close, yet so far config.
I ended up deciding that if the cost difference is roughly $600 or so more for the perfect laptop I would save my pennies from now until April (new processors should be out) and buy one of the high ends. My trusty but rusty Inspiron 8500 is still serving me just fine on my daily and WOW needs.

Re: $2,000.00 Notebook
Hello CrumBum,
Well I probably will buy the notebook only on Feb or Mar 2007 (because I will have 2,000.00 only on Mar 2007 haha) .. so I still have a plenty of time to research for the perfect Notebook .. probably in Mar 2007 this config that I want today will be out to dated.. and I will be able to buy an T7400 .. or T7600 with 2Gb DDR2 ... with an Gf 7900GTX (dreamer)......
Any way, I never owned an Notebook before, but as far as I researched, I liked mostly the HP desing (but not the config.), I liked the Gateway config. but I'm not shure if its a good brand or not, if I can trust on Gateway the way I trust on HP or Dell for exemple (for tech support, product quality and this kind of stuff)....
Toshiba I dont have a clue at all.. but you are the second to tell me that dislikes Toshiba haha
Thanks for the answers!

Re: $2,000.00 Notebook
Why not get a Sager 5760 for $2000, it comes standard with a 512MB nVidia 7900 GTX... or you can get the nVidia 7950 GTX for $100 more
Link from PowerNotebooks
This is pretty much a one of the top of the line high-end notebooks currently... especially for the price.

Yes it cames with a gread video card.. BUT..
With an Core 2 Duo T5500, only 512MB DDR2 and only 40GB 5400RPM.. the only thing good on this config is the Video card.. I really need a balance .. not a great video card.. but good processor, memory and hd (plus the rest off course like wireless, bluetooth...)
