if I'm willing to buy an mx1210, what are my other options?
I've priced out an mx1210 to acceptable specs for my tastes. I would like a small screen, but good battery life and something other than Intel GMA for video. C2D Merom is a must as well as 1GB of DDR2, 2GB preferrable, but I can live with just 1GB at first. 100GB HDD is also desired. I live in Canada, so they need to be CDN accessible books.

The Asus W7J is another option. The battery life is not as good as other notebooks though; around 2.5-3 hours. I am not sure if there is an extended battery option available.

If you're fine with a 13'3 then the Sony SZ is a great line to look for.
14'1 will also get you the much more powerful Asus A8Js series.
Not sure of many 12 inch options out there that have those kinda specs.
