Gaming laptop for ~$2k with Int'l Warranty for UK buyer in the USA
Hi everyone,
I'm travelling to the states for Christmas and am really tempted to buy a gaming laptop seeing as the US$ is nearly 2 to £1.
I have a budget of around $2k (perhaps a bit more) and would like something that will play all the major FPS.

My main concern (following components obviously) is an international warranty on the laptop so that if I come back and the thing breaks I'm able to have it replaced or fixed.
Does anyone know if I'm constrained to the larger manufacturer's for this or are there some smaller companies in the States that sell high-spec laptops with an international warranty?
If anyone can help I'd be most grateful.

Welcome to the forums.
Unfortunately international use can be a tricky thing. Even if coverage is there, you may need to send the notebook to another country where their service center is located for repairs/service. I'd stick to the larger companies or those that have a presence in your country to simplify any future service needs.
If you buy a notebook from a US reseller but need to send it back here for repairs--your savings may quickly turn into losses due to the shipping costs, etc.

Take a look at this beauty:
It's not getting any better than that for a 15.4" gaming notebook. I believe Asus notebooks carry an International warranty but I could be mistaken (check our dedicated Asus forum for more detailed info).
Business-class notebooks typically have International warranties so the HP nc8430 becomes an option. It is also available in the UK, but will probably be cheaper to get it here in the United States.

The two systems Chaz mentioned are excellent. I would also highly recommend them.
Also available in the UK are the Compal HEL80 (Zepto Znote 2425W), Zepto 6615WD, and possibly the Rock CTX (Clevo M570U).

I second the G1. I'm not sure why it says it only has a one year warranty? Asus notebooks should come with a 2 year global warranty...

The Asus G1 does look very tempting - surprisingly little on the web about it but according to some posts here it looks like it'll be launched in the UK in a few days time.
I'm interested to see how it fares on a 3dmark test.
Chaz - you were right, the ASUS do come with a global warranty so long as they have a centre in the country you'd like it fixed - that's a huge plus.
