f. WUXGA - 1920x1200; Wider viewing version of UXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
12) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?

I'm wondering if I can get away with less than brushing my upper figures. I know thin and lights are expensive but I guess I was looking more towards 1500ish. Also that Lifebook is absolutely ridiculous.

b. SXGA - 1400x1050 - Compromise resolution between XGA and UXGA. ****? 12" notebooks either have an XGA (1024x768) or WXGA (1280x800) resolution; if you want higher, you will need to move to a 14" screen. So, it looks like you will have to go with one of those.
Do you require an internal optical drive? If not, then consider the ThinkPad X60:

I'm wondering if I can get away with less than brushing my upper figures. I know thin and lights are expensive but I guess I was looking more towards 1500ish. You could go with a larger (13.3" - 14") screen and save money - take a look at the Sony C-series.

Look into a Dell D420 or a Sony SZ series, you can get them under $1500 fairly easily. The Dell has some amazing battery life though if you ever want to try out a game the Sony comes with a decent GPU. You could also look into the HP dv2000, its a little on the heavier side of the thin and light but it is still fairly small.

Re: Impossible Requirements? Perhaps!
That actually isnt that hard....
XPS M1210 by Dell, the Sony VAIO C series, Lenovo V100 would all be very good. There is also the Toshiba U200, but I cannot reccomend that, because the keyboard sucks, and quality is pretty poor.
If you dont mind a barebone based laptop with a reseller warranty, Asus Z35F is an excellent choice.
On the business side, theres tons of 12" ones, but they are all very light and dont have as much power as the larger ones. The 14" business laptops tend to be very light, so they are worth a look: Dell D620, HP nc6320, ThinkPad Z61t, etc.
