cheap Laptop for Oblivion
im looking to buy a laptop that would be able to play Oblivion. i dont want to spend thousands of dollars either. what is a good company that has a low priced laptop that has the right card and memory specs for this game?

Filling out the FAQ in the 'What notebook should I buy' forum could be helpful. You will probably want at least a x1600/7600 and a Gig of memory, possibly 2. You won't have to throw down "thousands of dollars" to get an affordable notebook. I'll throw one out there for you to look at-the dell e1705. It's 7900gs is a very powerful mobile card and it is inexpensive for what you get.

You can get a decent E1705 for around 1.5k, and could get a system with a X1600/X1700/7600/7700 starting at around 1.2k.
Jack up the specs and the price can reach about 2~2.2k but that would be about it.

the price range is no more than $1300 or as close to that as poosible. i just want to have a graphics card and memory that will work for this game

Most notebook manufacturers have models with dedicated graphics card. The Dell Inspiron E1705 has the Go7900, which is the most powerful graphics card out there. Incidentally, the E1705 is the cheapest gaming notebook with the Go7900.

What size of laptop are you looking for? It looks like 17" has been covered.
$1,300 is tight for a gaming laptop; the best you are going to be able to get for that amount of money is a Go7400/X1400 for a 15.4" notebook, which can play Oblivion but at so-so settings.
I would take a look at the Dell E1505 and the HP dv6000t. If you want to wait a bit and extend your budget by $100, then you can get a much nicer laptop (although the HP dv6000t is a pretty nice laptop already):
