Question:
HP Pavillion zd 8000 or Sager np 9860 series?
I've narrowed my choices to these two laptops. I'm not sure which one I should get for a desktop replacement/gaming notebook. Should I get the hp when it comes out or the sager?
Answer:
What's your budget?
--------------------
Compaq Presario 2800T
Pentium 4-M 1.6 GHz - 15" UXGA
512 MB RAM - 40 GB (5400 rpm)
ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 64 MB
Answer:
it's around $2000-2500 but I can go up to $3000 since I saved up more money now.
Answer:
The HP is going to be unveiled tomorrow (supposedly). I suggest taking a look at the specifications when it's unveiled to see if the 8000 will fit your needs.

Answer:
The zd8000 sounds hot, but I haven't seen much early coverage of it. I think I'd wait a bit to make sure the quality is up to par before going that route.

Answer:
I personally will wait to see which manufacturer is willing to provide video upgrade packages. PCIe's much hyped ability to allow user-upgradable video chip really doesn't look very bright at the moment -- no one is making or saying they will make video upgrade kits.[:(] If no one makes it, then you still can't upgrade video card yourself.[xx(]
Answer:
The ZD8000 only has X600 which is pretty much a mr9700 with 256MB on PCIE. A 6800Go will blow it out of the water.
Answer:
I'm going to save up some more money and buy a Sager. I looked into hp more and it seemed that it didn't have some things that I needed. Plus the Sager one seemes to have a lot of things that other notebook makers don't. A bit expensive but it's worth it [:D]
