I have decided that I would like to purchase a customized version of the hp dv6000t however in canada we are only offered a few pre-built models. I was wondering if there is anyway to purchase a customized model?

Do you have any American friends that could purchase it for you and send it? That model can be purchased from Costco.com. Since they have a 6 month return policy, it would give you plenty of time to have it shipped twice.
You'd be cutting it close getting it shipped from HP to America to Canada and then back if in need of repair within their 21 day policy.

Yeah, Costco and eBay are probably your best (and only) options. I'm not sure about the warranty though ..
