Do you really need to creat another thread, you just posted one not to long ago about the same thing, you could just ask in that one. That said, the current processor goes as follows Turion< core duo < core 2 duo so if you can get core 2 duo for only 50 bucks more than I think you should get it.

If you want a higher resolution screen, the Dell is the only way you'll get it. I might suggest the Lenovo n100 as well.

Go for the HP if looks matter to you. Its much better built than the Dell.

Personally, I would choose the HP Core2Duo machine. I don't like the design of the Inspirons very much. So unless you need the Inspron's optional higher-res screen, go with the HP.

The HP dv6000t is a nice and well built notebook.
The E1505 might be an option if the higher resolution of the screen is important for you.
I would stay away from the low-end Acer's notebooks.
