Gaming laptop...

Question:
Gaming laptop...
Alright so I´m looking for a good notebook for gaming. I'm considering CyberpowerPC cuz of their good prices, awesome painting, etc. BUT their problem would be tech support as everyone keeps mentioning... so i don´t really know what to do, I like the HP DV6000t a little... but it doesn't seems as good for gaming as a nice cyberpowerpc notebook.
General Questions

I dont really want to spend more than US$1,500 but I guess max can be $1,650.
2) What size notebook would you prefer?

Only interested in 15" screens

I'll be taking it with me every now and then.
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
Thats what I mainly want it for; The most demanding game I'll be playing on it will most likely be Lineage II for now, I think.
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
Well... i really don't like Dell... or Compaq... in fact, i just dont want to go with one of the mainstream companies... Hp Dv6000t keeps calling my attention though...
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
Just two or three, if more then thats cool.
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
That's how im planing to buy it

16) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD-ROM, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-RW drive?
Yeah, we all do. A dvd rw i guess?
Anyway, there's this cyberpower here :$1,455.00 and a 5% instant rebate not included
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/ntbkx55850.asp?v=d
wich i can customize:
-Blue color
-Intel core 2 duo T5600(1.83Ghz)
-256Mbs Ati X1600
-2Gigs of (667Mhz) Ram,
-60gb 7,200 Hard drive
-an USB 7,200RPM 320Gb drive
-NO Operating System/Softwares (as i dont need any at all)
For just $1,455.00 and the rebate wich makes an incredibly awesome price. The problem is "Cyberpowerpc" besides... I never heard of that Mitac 8258D Notebook before... anyone know ? and i wonder how does Ati vid card + Intel core duo work togheter.

On the other hand, there's this HP dv6000 :$1,491.98
http://www.shopping.hp.com/series/ca...Ghk!2036682823
Customized with
-An intel T5500 (a lil slower)
-2 Gigs of ram at 533Mhz (Slower)
-128Mbs dedicated + 128Mbs Shared Nvidia Geforce Go 7400 video card (slooower!)
-80Gb 5,400RPM hard drive (bigger but slower)
-bluetooth
-12 Cell battery (wich is nice)
-And a 300Gb 5,400 USB drive (Personal media drive as they call it, wich is by the way, slower)
for $1,491.98
So yeah, one is obviously a lot faster than the other, but we're talking about Cyberpower vs HP here. If only i knew cyberpowers not gonna breakdown or something i'd definetly go with it cuz i'm not sure about the hp setup... specially cuz of that Geforce 7400 128+128 card. I'd really like to get a full black painted Turion64 X2 laptop though with either an atix1600 or a geforce 7600 and 2Gbs of 533-667 RAM, id like AMD since everyone says its less expensive and also that processors don't make much difference on gaming, or so they say, just havent found a good deal with an amd yet. I've checked the asus S96J-Z92t,the compal hel80, a sony vaio and even the Turion64 X2 version of that HP dv6000 and all that (but it comes with an even worse video card, the Geforce 7200), theres so many to choose, i just dont want to go wrong.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Re: Gaming laptop...
I havent heard of Mitac notebooks before. For your budget, consider the Asus S96J and Compal HEL80. Both are 15.4 inch notebooks with X1600 graphics cards.

Re: Gaming laptop...
For you, I'd suggest either the Compal HEL80, or the Asus S96J. It MIGHT be possible to find an Asus G1 within your budget too, but I don't think so.
If you're worried about a reputable reseller, check out www.xoticpc.com; I think I heard somewhere that they'll ship internationally. www.powernotebooks.com is also very reputable, but I haven't heard it they ship internationally or not.
The CPU will make near no difference at all in gaming...the performance is so close between Intel and AMD that you could flip a coin. However, battery life is a different story: AMDs aren't as power-efficient as Intels.

Thanks jetstar and npaladin2000. I'll check them out again, If anyone knows a site that sells them painted or anything, let me know.
Oh and about shipping internationally, thats ok, i think ill have it shipped to the states anyway, cuz they charge a LOT of taxes if shipped here, i believe.
Hm... xoticpc... awesome site, just that the painting costs 400 dolars heh. Is the Compal Hel as thick as it looks...? cuz that would definately make me go with the S96J

www.xoticpc.com will paint them, but it might take the machine out of your listed budget.

WOW ! I never saw the Asus G1p before !!! that would be the best one haha. Is there any place i can get it for $1,700 or less ??? I mean, i donīt want a 2.0 Dual core ! must get cheaper with a 1.6.

Re: Gaming laptop...
WOW ! I never saw the Asus G1p before !!! That's a common reaction; it's definitely got the "bling" factor going. ;)
I don't know offhand if anyone will yank the 2.0 for a 1.66, but I'm pretty sure there are places that carry it for a bit less than XoticPC does.

Re: Gaming laptop...
But what do you guys think of the Hp Dv6000t ? is the Nvidia Geforce Go 7400 really that slow for gaming? can you play the latest games decently on it or not ? and the ram... its 533Mhz... does it really affects the gaming that much?
