HP Pavilion dv8408us Notebook for $799-great deal?

Question:
HP Pavilion dv8408us Notebook for $799-great deal?
compusa has a $250 rebate on this computer. $800 is about what I wanted to spend on a notebook that can run games like Titan Quest and Madden. I'll also be doing word processing and using the Internet. Most likely won't be carrying it around too much as it will be my primary computer, but will want to take it to coffee shops for free Internet. Is 8 lbs havy for a 17" laptop? Should I go with this one or use the 20% off coupon on a $1000 e1505 with similar specs? Any other better deals out there right now? Thanks so much for any help!

Filling the FAQ will help.
Be warned though, that the HP dv8000 series suffers from serious keyboard issues, with many users complaining of various problems with the keyboard.

Re: HP Pavilion dv8408us Notebook for $799-great deal?
Sorry for not filling out the FAQ, I listed what was important to me above. I really just wanted to know if I should jump all over this deal or go with an e1505. Nothing in the FAQ is really very important..I'm just looking for a good buy on a computer that can handle the games and others like them that I mentioned. Here's my answers to some applicable questions:
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
Not familiar enough with any laptop brands to have a preference.
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
3-4
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
No.
13) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
No.
14) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?
Soon. As long as possible. For keyboard issues, I have a wireless keyboard I could use. Do the dv8000 eyboards usually go bad before the year warranty is up?
Notebook Components
15) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 160GB?
Doesn't matter-have 2 externals
