Question:
Urgent: MSI's M660 Vs. Acer's ASPIRE 5045WLMi
Hey.
I'm having difficulties deciding which to buy. I am a student and I use mainly internet, office and adobe.
both are within my budget, and cost around 1000$ U.S.
M660 comes with INTEL CORE 2 DUO T5600 1.8GHz, 1024MB DDRII 667MHZ and 80GB.
5045WLMi contains AMD TURION 64 X2 2.0 GHz, 1024MB 533MHZ and 120GB.
Both have Dual-layer DVD burner.
MSI has bluetooth, Acer doesn't.
Which is it then?
I need a quick reply 'coz the offers are time limited..

I'd go with the MSI. You won't see much of a performance difference, but the core 2 duo is more energy efficient.

Well, I don't know anything about that MSI but the Acer has mediocre build quality and I personally would never buy similar notebook.

yes acers esp the aspire line have very questionable build quality. on the other hand msi has some of the best build quality around. msi doesnt get alot of attention since they tend to focus on amds, but their notebooks seem to all have the same build quality, and that quality is mostly plastic but very solid. you wont see carbon, magnesium etc, but u will get a sturdy notebook with impressive build quality.
