Dell 700M or Fujitsu S6210

Question:
Dell 700M or Fujitsu S6210
Dell 700m or fujitsu S6210
this is the fujitsu i want to get
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=34-200-020&depa=3
I am considering these two lappys as they are about the same price.
does anyone have any strong opinions between these two?
I know the dell has a smaller keyboard, but i have small hands so i think i can get use to it.
Does anyone know which one has the better display? i have seen the dell in person but not the fujitsu? anyone know how the fujitsu's screen compares to the toshiba qosmio's screen?
any noise difference?
I havent heard any negative comments on the fujitsu? does anyone have any?

TIA

Answer: Personally would get the Fujitsu. Fujitsu's screen is one of the best. I would stay away from Dell. Their quality hasn't been what it used to be lately. Fujitsu has very good build quality. I almost got the 6210 when it was $1300 on NewEgg. I ended up getting a T41 cause was a few $100 cheaper on ebay and had the three year warranty. If they were the same price, I probably would have got the Fujitsu.

Answer: I used the Dell 700m a few months back and a Fuji S6000 over a year ago before it had the CrystalView screen. I definitely liked the form factor of the S6000 better, but the 700m had an amazing screen and better than that of the S6000 I used. However, the S6210 comes with a CrystalView screen so that gap may have been removed. I'm getting the S6231 in three-days time so I could make a more informed comment at that time. I'll try and remember to post back here when that time comes!
My feeling right now is to say go with the Fujitsu for the overall build-quality though. The 700m is nice, but the battery life is a stinker on it for a "mobile" notebook that forces you to still deal with a small keyboard and is somewhat thick.
Answer: @zazonz
i know dell lappy has been known for bad quality in build, but isnt the Dell 700m a exception?
abazter,
plz remember to post back on how you feel about the new crystal screen. Is it true that all the S6000 come with the crystal screen now? the one from newegg doesnt advertise it.
btw, did you implie that you like the widescreen of the Dell700m better then the fujitsu?
thx a bunch

Answer: I had a 700m for about a week. I sent it back. I got one when they had the $750 coupon, despite my own advice, it was too good a deal. It felt plasicty. The buttons were noisy. Keyboard had some flex. The keyboard was small which considering its size isn't really a quality issue. The screen was very nice, but it picked up a lot of reflections, which I personally don't like. Maybe I got a lemmon, they were still fairly new when I got mine. Maybe they have worked out the kinks. If you do get the 700m, I'd recommend the bigger battery which I got. It sticks out a little from the back, but gives about five hours of battery life. Its a $50-60 upgrade when you configure your machine. After almost getting the s6210, I got the T41. I've been very happy and it was only $100 more than the 700m. Hope this helps.

Answer: one more question i think
how does the dell 700m sceen compare to the IBM T41?
thx a bunch, after reading a ton of reviews, i am pretty sure i wont get the dell 700m, but i really like the screen and it is a good way to compare things.

Answer: I would go w/ dell. Nicer look nicer build.
Answer:
wow, you are the first person to say dell has good build quality. that is something i have been worrying about.
would anyone else like to comment on these two lappys?
any personal experience?

Answer: I have personally seen both but have only 'touched' and typed a few words on the Fujitsu.
The Fujitsu is sturdy and feels very well built in terms of the craftmanship. And I must say the CrystalView screen is superb; less reflective than the Sony Xbrite.
Another factor you may want to consider is that the 12.1" widescreen on the 700m looks rather small to me. Maybe it's just a personal preference. But I suggest that you try to work with a 700m in a reatil store to see if you find the screen too small for your liking.
Answer: @ reflex-silver
Could you say which screen you liked better?
I have been to a dell store and i liked the dell screen alot. it did have alot of reflection, but i think i "might" be able to get use to it for its crisp and clear picture.
I dont think the size would be too small for me. i acually would like the 10" P series from fujitsu but it is way over my budget.
Thx
