Anyone there familiar with LG lightweights?
Hello experts!
I need a SMALL laptop and the 1.1 kg TX Express (TX-42RXV1) of LG
seems perfect, but I need to know how friendly it is with non-Windows
OS's as I'm allergic to Win-XP. Anyone out there who has tried it?
Otherwise I have very few requirements, do not even need voice or
moving image. I am willing to pay a fair sum for a real light laptop that
installs and runs a useful OS. I can manage with almost any Linux,
or eComStation.
I even took an installation CD to the shop to try it, but the guys couldn't
even make it boot from its external (USB) drive. I expect it must be possible??
I'd also appreciate any other suggestions for such device. Just one more
thing on the requirements list - it must run direct from the mains power supply (with a converter, obviously), I do not want to carry a battery around. I think all computers do that nowdays, but you never know...
