im in desperate need of help without any form of judgement or inappropriate sarcasm. my last laptop was a samsung and it could only leave the house on weekends(with the help of a trolley from the supermarket) but now its stuck on my desk...permanently. im in my last year of university and i think i can finally affoard a notebook. i would like a sony, iv seen the TX series, 11.1" but im short sighted and feel challenged when using the keys. i download a lot, always about so i need something that weighs a little less than i do. i just wanna make sure im getting my money's worth.help me!!!!

7) How many hours of battery life do you need? at least 4, thats realistic right It's a bit high, but many notebooks do get more than 4 hours. The Sony SZ that abaxter suggested is a good choice, it has a dedicated graphics card, which is nice considering you will be playing some games. The integrated graphics cards that too many notebooks use are generally no good for games.

You may want to look at some of the Fujitsu-Siemens notebooks such as the Amilo Si 1520 (12" widescreen) http://consumer.fujitsu-siemens-shop...3FidPage%3D486 or possibly the Lifebook S series (13.3 / 14.1" normal screen).
However, you won't easily get the screen resolutions you prefer down at these sizes. Perhaps a compromise would be 1440 x 900 14" widescreen. You can get the Dell Latitude D620 with this as an option. And, with the 9-cell battery, you can get the battery life you would like. However, there may be a budget problem.
