Question:
Brightview technology
I want to get a laptop with a 17" "Brightview" screen. I know sony calls this technology Xbright, Toshiba call theirs TruBright and HP calls theirs BrightView. What other vender has this kind of screen in the 17" size. Also what would be the technical generic term for this type of reflective screen technology. I want to find out the correct terminology so if I'm on the phone with a salesperson they would know exactly what I'm talking about. I've called several vendors and they don't know what I'm talking about nor do thay know if their computers have this technology. In addition, I just ordered a laptop from Dell and the sales person guaranteed that all their laptops were shipping with this type of screen. When I received the computer the screen was not reflective and I'm having to send it back. I don't want to run into that problem again so I'm trying to find the correct technical term for this kind of screen. Thanks for your help.
Answer:
There isn't really a standard term, but "enhanced display" and "reflective display" are the two I would use. As you learned the hard way, it's better to educate yourself than to rely on sales people.
Take a look at the Fujitsu N6000 series.
