Hard drive -smaller & faster or bigger & slower??

Question:
Hard drive -smaller & faster or bigger & slower??
For a T7200 desktop replacement, any suggestions on which of these two drives would be best?
160GB 5400RPM
200GB 4200RPM
The unit will be used for number crunching, web surfing, and some video and still image editing. I have also got a USB HD to back up data.

What do you mean by number crunching exactly?
I'd say go with the 160Gb 5400rpm drive. 4200rpm drives can be crushingly slow especially as system drives.

Go for the 160GB 5400rpm HD. It will perform better for the tasks you mention.

Definitely the 160GB 5400RPM drive, especially with Video editing you want a faster drive. 7200 RPM would be even better. What you could do is buy the slower drive and use the money you save to purchase a 7200 RPM drive.

4200 will hold you back, 5k4 is the standard now. If it's a desktop replacement, get the 160 5k4 or even a smaller 7200rpm drive and use an external hard disk for mass storage.
