Question:
audio notebook-firewire issue?help!
hi
I am still looking for the propper audio notebook (a basic recording/mixing tool - not a high end music productin tool - it will also be for regular office use)
I have been following discussions on problems with fw-audiocards on laptops with dual core prozessors (maybe caused by the 945 chipsets) and expirienced the problem myself when testing a toshiba satellite on various firewire audiocards before buying it - there was this ticking noise once in a while on various audio software /various setting/ latency)
so now I am asking if anyone has a recommandation on this subject - i am still hoping to not have to buy a mac (mostly because I have acces to software for regular laptops and becaus I will not be able to afford a mac - including all the extras I will need...)
so:
anyone who can suggest anything?
thanks

errr....the mac uses the same 945 chipset, so i don't know if going to mac will necessarily fix the problem. do you have to use firewire solutions or can you use a pcmcia or express card solution?

Re: audio notebook-firewire issue?help!
I was basically hoping on a firewire solution cause I have access to several fw audio cards (before eventually buying my own)
so, the new macs use the same chipsets and prozessors - is that right?
any suggestions on a laptop?
thanks ph

yes, the new macs use the core duo/core 2 duo processors and their chipset.
it would help if you filled out the faq for some more suggestions.
