If not the Inspiron 6400, what?
I have been looking the past week at notebooks and recently settled on this.
Model: Dell Inspriron 6400
Processor: T7200 @ 2.0ghz/4mb/667fsb
Memory: 2gb 667mhz ddr2 sdram
Hard Drive: 80 gb sata 7200rpm
Wireless: Intel pro wireless
bluetooth
Screen: widescreen sxga
Video: 256mb x1400 ATI
Optical: 8x DVD burner
Sound: SB Audigy
Battery: 85 hour battery
I am not getting any software and just the most basic OS, all for $1426.
My question is:
1. Is this a decent/good/great price for these options?
2. If not the 6400, then what Brand/Model?
Thanks all.

Re: If not the Inspiron 6400, what?
You should be able to get it for less if you use those Dell coupons.
A similar, but much more well-built notebook, is the HP Pavilion dv6000t, which can be configured to specs that are similar to those you posted.
For other notebook recommendations, please fill out the FAQ. Welcome to the forums!

Re: If not the Inspiron 6400, what?
$1426 is too much for that Dell, you can get the Compal HEL80 for the same amount of money, and it's so much better than both Pavilion and Inspiron Series.
Anyway, fill out the FAQ first.

I saw the FAQ but figured since I knew what I wanted, I could just post and ask general opinions.
I like the HP Pavilion dv6000t but don't like the HDD rpm. I also tried the Dell coupons to no avail.
I take another look at the compaq and the hp...
