it will be difficult to find something in this price range...perhaps the compaq v3000 or dell 640m.

Eh, you might also want to check out the Compaq Presario V3000z, or step it up o the V3000t if you want to do some modern gaming.

It is not a 14" notebook, making it less portable. Perhaps something like this.
