High School Student/medium gamer

High School Student/medium gamer
I am looking for a laptop that I can use not just for school work, but also gaming. I want to at least be able to play Half Life 2, Prey, and other similar FPS. So I having been looking for a laptop that is:
7 pounds MAX
around 1000 bux
dedicated graphics card, at least a ATI Mobility Radeon X600 or Nvidia GeForce Go6600
I've been looking at a cyberpowerpc.com laptop drawn to their low prices but stopped because of the stories iIve heard about them... so does anyone have any suggestions?

I have a 60 and 35 gig laptop HDD laying around

DVD-CD/RW would be nice but DVD-ROM is a necessity.

Since you'll be buying within a year, I'd suggest you save a little bit more money. At the moment, the Asus A8jp is an awesome deal for $1300, 14" notebook with an ATi x1700. Bringing around a 15.4" notebook isn't fun, even if its less than 7lb imo. Go for 14".

Thanks but i was looking for something a bit cheaper. I don't have the 1000 dollars yet and am still working toward that goal.
