Question:
Difference business and normal notebook
First of all i have to say computer-notebook.com has been very helpful to me.
I searched the fora and i wasn't able to find anything about this. Maybe it is quite straightforward but i dont really seem to see the difference between business and normal notebooks.
Are business notebooks only for companies to buy or can they only be bought in numbers? I heard something about they are better built, they don't fall apart very quickly. They seem to have integrated video cards more often than normal notebooks, maybe I'm wrong.
Can you tell me what the difference actually is? I'd appreciate your help. :)

Re: Difference business and normal notebook
When people say "business notebook" they're just referring to the target market of a particular laptop. Business ones tend to be less flashy, more expensive, and built a little more solidly. A lot of times you'll see matte screens on these; matte's less shiny, and not as popular with consumers in general (that's my impression anyways), but is more practical for reading text.

Thank you for the answer.
So that means business notebooks are less often equipped with good graphic cards since "bussiness people" don't very often (i assume) need fast rendering, game performance etcetera?

Re: Difference business and normal notebook
The commercial companies usually offer consumer (budget) lines as well as business lines.
Generally speaking, business-class notebooks have very good to excellent build quality and support; hence they are more durable (sturdier) and reliable. Other than that, the companies usually use innovative technologies for their business series such as Magnesium Chassis, HDD Shock Absorber, Spill Free Keyboard, Finger Reader..., etc and other similar features that mobile business users could benefit from. Consumer notebooks are turn to the average person, they usually offer more multimedia oriented features but their build quality is inferior and varies from low to good. Of course, business-class notebooks are usually more expensive than consumer ones. Other than that, there are notebooks which cannot be classified as either consumer or business class such as some special series or notebooks offered from non-commercial companies.
As for the GPUs, there are business-class "gaming" notebooks equipped with mid-range video cards. And of course, there are mobile professional workstations with mid- or high- range special video cards meant for demanding 3D work.
And so, there are always exceptions, so don't take what I said as a rule. And the most important thing usually is to find the notebook that fit your needs, no matter of the brand, class or whatever else people can fabricate… and I usually don’t like making generalizations just because some companies can always surprise you with their "creativity"... (that's sarcasm)

I think the question about business-class vs. consumer-class has been handled very well above.
But to answer your other question: No, you do not need to be a business in order to buy a business-class notebook.
