Comparable to Xbrite

Question:
Comparable to Xbrite
Am the happy owner for 18 months of a Dell Inspiron 5100 - P4 2.4 GHz - 512 RAM - DVD/CD-RW combo drive that's in great condition .. Now that I've watched a DVD on a Sony Vaio with XBRITE - I want a better screen and a DVD burner .. any thoughts/suggestions .. what is comparable to Xbrite .. have read so many posts my head is spinning .. not sure Dell's technology is up there with Xbrite and not being able to actually see the image makes me wonder .. Sony is too pricey and has issues according to many posts .. any thoughts would be appreciated .. not a real gamer, mostly use laptop for watching DVDs, surfing the net, work related "stuff" and photo editing - would like longer battery life too .. please advise .. Many thanks .. CW
PS .. any thoughts on what I might be able to sell my 5100 for ..[:D]
Answer: XBRITE is very nice, Fujitsu's CrystalView is as good or better. Toshiba's Truebright is also very nice.

Answer: I've seen a few Hps with "brightview" that give the screen a glossy, photo look that I think looks really good. But it did have a little glare.
Also, EVERY toshiba notebooke (new ones atleast) I have seen in person has a nice looking screen.
When i get my dell 8600 (in the mail) with the WUXGA i'll post my opinion on that. But I have a feeling that it wont be as good as those. But i knew that when i bought it and I did save a lot of money on it (about $800) so i think it was a good choice. That was offtopic but whatever.
You say sony has problems... Every sony product I have ever owned was great in quality, but I have never owned a computer from them.
Answer: i personally think the Dell 700m's(and only the Dell700m) screen is good. i pass it over at the mall all the time. but i think the toshiba trubrite is better.
the sony screen is also very good but i hear about problems about the lappy alot and even the model at bestbuy had problems(the keys were broken off)
I really hate the screen on the HP/compaq screens.
