BrightView, XBright, CrystalView, etc - what is it

Question:
BrightView, XBright, CrystalView, etc - what is it
Does anyone know what/how these BrightView, XBright, CrystalView feature really work?
I've been searching thru here and some people love it and say it makes the picture incredible and some say it's fluff. Almost seems like comparing glossy to matte photos.
Am we just paying an extra $50 for a sheet of clear plastic?
Answer: Yeah, glossy to matte is exactly what it's like comparing. However, there "is" an increase in the vibrancy. Personally, I don't think it's worth the extra cash-ola. It just seems a little hard on the eyes sometimes. I mean initially it is nice, don't get me wrong, but I just don't care for the reflectiveness and glare. I find it annoying. Then you have the maintenance part of it. Yeah, just use a very soft fine jewlery cloth and don't press too hard and you shouldn't scratch or leave streaks on it..lol Otherwise you will see every little streak and swirl or scratch. The "high gloss brightview" screens are nice in the right location, just too reflective and glareing for me. The non-reflective, anti-glare lcd screens in my opinion are still the way to go.
Remember when computer manufactures where making thier monitors anti-glare. They did that because the glare annoyed people. Now they're bringing the glare factor back..lol I just don't get it. I've played with both screens and I personally don't think it's worth the few extra dollars. Just my opinion...:) To each is to his own..:)
As far as paying $50 for a sheet of clear plastic, i wouldn't go that far. The "high gloss brightview" or whatever you want to call it, isn't for everyone. Maybe in a few years when they have it perfected, but not right now.
Answer: Maybe you could head over to Best Buy or Circuit City to check them out to see which you like best. I personally do not like them because of the reflections, but the picture is better.
I know things, things that could get me killed
Answer: i have a bright vew screen, i love it. makes the movie watching experence a whole lot better. they are right, it is alot harder to clean and sometimes the glare can get anoying, but if youve got the extra cash to spend i say go for it
