Needed help deciding which of these laptops I should get:
Budget of 500 -550 BRITISH POUNDS (pound sign doesnt work!)

You could also take a look at the Asus A6KM available here from laptops direct for a great price. It doesn't have dual core but a decent Turion 2.0GHz cpu, 1Gb ram, 100Gb hard drive, a geforce go 7300 graphics card, 1.3Mpixel webcam, firewire and a free carry case and mouse. 2 year warranty as well!

Thanks for the advice...that is a pretty darn good laptop...however I was hoping for a dual core laptop.

Acer and Packard Bell have horrible build quality and customer service to boot, I would look into the HP and or Compaq laptops, they have good build quality, and top notch components for the price.
Their customer service is also excellent, with cheaper notebooks customer service is very important.

yep hp have pretty good things
although they didn't fixed my lan port speed but it was my router's fault, and using wireless instead
