hp nw8440 or dell precision m65
Trying to make a decision between these two notebooks and have a couple of questions regarding them. The specs are as follows

First of all, I need the laptop to work on 3ds MAX, CAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, macromedia director and premiere. As for gaming, the only game i play now is WC3 but would like to try out newer 3d online games if needs be.
Currently am using the precision m50 and it has done me very well and dell has excellant services so far. Am based in Malaysia so other models such as sager and alienware are just not viable. Asus don't bring in their latest models and their resolution is lacking imo. Lenovo cost even more than hp here at a lot lower specs so to make things simple it's just between the nw8440 and the m65. Won't go above 15.4"
1.from reading in the forum, i realised that the ati firegl5200 is much much more stronger than the quadro 350m. If I want the notebook to be futureproof for at least 3-4 years which one would be a better choice?
2.In terms of services and warranty, is hp generally as decent as dell?
3.Not sure if this is a valid consideration but how often do hp and dell roll newer models? Would be quite disappointed if let's say i buy a dell m65 now and they come out with a dell m65a 2 months later.
Thanks ahead for the help. Will add more questions when they come up. Appreciate any comments at all as i would need all the info i can get to decide between the two. Am not in such a hurry to get the laptop as my m50 is still pretty decent but things are slowing down and it gets in the way of work.

1. the firegl will be better by a long shot
2. the customer support should be comparable
3. not sure.....but i think the m65 has been the same other than cpu upgrade for at least 4 months....

is there a reason why there're not many reviews on the nw8440? I can find many reviews on the m65 and they're all very positive except for it's gpu. In terms of comparison, it seems that the nw8440 has a very good setup if you discount the hefty pricetag.
Anyone heard anything negative with regards to both notebooks?

i think it's hefty price tag is why you don't see many people who have, and thus write reviews for it. however, it is identical in chassis to the hp nc8430, you perhaps you can read that review to get a better feel for the notebook.

if wide screen isn't a necessity, there is the thinkpad t60p which also has the firegl and a great ips screen.

thought about that but unfortunately i cant get c2d think pads in my country yet and they cost significantly more than both the hp and dell with a lot lower specs. But they are really sweet machines. Love the keyboards.

[1] The FireGL V5200 is a very powerful professional card while Quadro FX 350M is just a entry level card. So, the FireGL V5200 would be so much better for 3D object manipulations.
[2] Generally speaking, both Dell and HP offer very good customer support. However, that's not true everywhere, so it's better to check that in your country.
[3] I don't now how often HP and Dell update their model. However, the V5200 has a refreshed version V5250 (not sure whether HP will offer it) while Nvidia doesn't offer more powerful GPU than the FX 350M for 15.4" notebook (for now).

went to the ati website and couldn't find the firegl v5250 but i suppose the v5200 is more than sufficient for what i need doing.
I think both laptops are both equally good but i've got a feeling i might be a bit disappointed with the m65 gpu. Was reading one review and it's 3ds MAX performance was pretty low compared to other models.
Is there any other difference between these two models that i should be aware off besides the difference in gpu? I haven't seen the m65 in actual since dell doesn't have a retail outlet here but i have seen the nc8420 and i reckon the 8440 should be similar and it looks pretty decent.

Lenovo offers now the V5250 with their T series but that's just a refreshed version as I said...
