Question:
I'm interested in the coming Asus A8JS-4S013P, what say have you?
it comes with a C2D and a powerful graphics solution and the extended warranty isn't that expensive. all added up, it will be just under $2000CDN before taxes, making it very attractive.
graphics aren't the important thing to me, C2D is. I'm getting away from gaming now (doing more healthful things outside) and I'm in the process of trying to liquidate my desktop assets to afford a smaller laptop replacement.
guess I should mention that having a smaller screen is also desired. I was looking at some LG P1 series at a local shop and I found the book to be too big, which surprised me since all they have is a 15.4" screen.
I just want major processing power, decent RAM (I see 2GB on my horizon) and if at all possible, a dedicated graphics solution.
I'm open to thoughts and suggestions. there aren't many C2D, 14" LCD notebooks with decent dedicated graphics. if the price is right, I'll go with something slower graphically (ie. x1400 or 7400Go vs 7700Go).
guess I should also mention that I live in BC, Canada, which no doubt limits some of my choices and accessibilities.
thanks for hearing me out guys!

Since you're not gaming, the difference between 7700go and 7600go isn't going to kill you. Think about picking up something else, like an HGL30, with the upgrades you want. Chances are it'll be cheaper and will give you better battery-life.

thanks for the suggestion Katicflis, but in a quick search with big box retailers in Canada, I got no hits for that particular model. :(

That is because there is no distributers of Compal notebooks in Canada, except for one or two, and they're in Quebec. Your only method is to import it.
