Re: opinion for buying a toshiba laptop
It would help if you fill out the .
So we would know better what form factor/size, LCD perference etc. that you're looking for.
There is no "best" model within a brand as they are each designed/geared towards completely different demographics/market. But as a rule of thumb in the Toshiba lines:
Satellite - Their consumer line, ranges from 12.1" ultra-portable to 17" desktop replacement gaming notebooks. Generally inexpensive and would have a model to suit most people's needs.
Qosmio - Their premium consumer line, mainly focusing on the 15.4" to 17" form factors filled with "premium" multimedia features such as HD-DVD drives.
Tecra - Their business line. Comes with 12.1" ultra-portable to 15.4" form factors. Generally more well built with a metal alloy chassis, and more expensive as well compared to the Satellite. Although it comes with less multimedia options. Go for this line if you want the best build quality (within Toshiba).
Portege - Their ultra-portable and tablet PC line. Similar to the Tecra terms of build quality but focuses on the small and tablet form factors.
I'd say you'll most likely look at their Satellite line to get the best options (for gaming) and the most bang for your buck.
But as I said before, please fill out the FAQ first so we know what you should be looking for.

Re: opinion for buying a toshiba laptop
DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA, they are the worst quality computers in canada, and they support is even worse especially in canada...
i would suggest any of these
Acer Ferririe 5000
http://www.cancomputer.com/index.php?sku=5364
Acer Travelmate 8210
http://www.cancomputer.com/index.php?sku=5464
LG
http://www.cancomputer.com/index.php?sku=5079
or you could max out a dell xps, but they is alot more than these systems.
Edit: 15.4 inch is the middle between desktop replacement systems and the portable ones so if you want the best of two worlds stick with 15.4 inch screen.
