Question:
Holiday specials?
First off: Great site! I don't think I've ever found the wealth of information when researching a product on any other message forum.
Anyways, I'm looking to buy a laptop (yeah....i still call them laptops, lol) within the next couple weeks but I was wondering if you guys knew about any holiday specials that would be kicking in pretty soon here. Should I hold out or will the prices even be significant enough? I've pretty much narrowed down my search to an HP dv6000 or dv9000. And considering I want some decent battery life, I'll probably go with a Core 2, which probably means I'll end up with a dv6000t. I don't need a super computer but would like to keep up to date - I could handle a pre-configured if the price is good (i.e. better than HP.com). I'd like to stay away from online only dealers if possible. So whadduya think? Is it worth holding out? I'm getting antsy, lol.
I'm gonna have a big nasty question concerning which one to buy for ya guys a little later :)

Black Friday is coming up... Of course big deals will be out then.

Yeah I was thinking about that. But I'm not sure how laptop trends compare to other consumer trends. There are a lot of variables to consider. So you think Black Friday would be worth waiting for? I should see significant price breaks? I'm currently pricing out an HP dv6000t. So far, I'm about 95% stuck on that one. I've currently got it configured at $930 with the APP thing though HP.com. Here's my thread on the HP forum:

Its a day of pure evil that comes out to feast on consumers, making them stand in horrendously long lines for the sake of saving a few dollars. Then you get struck by lightning and find out they are sold out of what you want after 2 minutes.
