Question:
I'm indecisive.. please help me out!
I've been looking into buying a new notebook, and I came onto this website for some help with deciding between a few I like. I've read many of the reviews you guys have posted on them, but I'd like to hear what some of your individual opinions are. Hopefully you can help me narrow them down to the one that will be the best investment.
"HP Pavilion dv6000t" <-- this one seemed to be pretty stable, affordable, and it has decent reviews. The only thing I'm not sure about, is that I had an HP desktop prior, and I had so many problems with it. However, this HP notebook looks sharp and like it'll handle media well.
"Toshiba Satellite A105" <-- The reviews seem to say this notebook is reliable and fast, yet the keyboard leaves something to be desired. I've never owned a Toshiba notebook before. How are they?
"Sony VAIO N150g/w" <-- I really like the white design and it seems to be pretty lightweight. Otherwise, I hear that it has a slow processor, but decent hard drive space. I couldn't find many reviews for this one. Maybe that's not a good sign..
and finally, the "Fujitsu Lifebook a3110" <-- This one just looks so interesting. Again, I like the white finish, and the picture quality seems great. It has only a 4200 rpm hard drive though, which isn't the best. This notebook just seems unique to me, which I like.
Ok guys, let me know what you think. I really need some help here. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

General Questions
1) What is your budget?
$800-$1300
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
b. Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
c. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
d. Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen
b, c, and d
3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
general tasks such as writing documents, e-mail. I spend alot of time on the internet, so a system that will load files and videos quickly is ideal. I also use programs such as Adobe Photoshop for design and editing.
4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
I will be traveling abroad in the next month or so, and the plane ride's a doozy. I'd like something to keep me occupied, but battery life really isn't a necessity. I'll most likely be using it to send e-mails back home. Something not too heavy would be nice.
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
I'm a console gamer, but I'd like to be able to run a game if the time comes.
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
I'm really open to trying something new. I've had all HP's in the past, yet I don't dislike them or anything.
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
around average is fine.
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
If I'm convinced that it's a smart purchase, sure.
9) Please select your country's flag as a post icon and tell us what country are you buying this in?
America
Screen Specifics
10) Would you prefer standard or widescreen?
oh, either is fine. Maybe widescreen?
11) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?
Standard
a. XGA -1024x768 - Large and easy to read text + graphics icons, but you fit less stuff on the screen.
b. SXGA - 1400x1050 - Compromise resolution between XGA and UXGA.
c. UXGA - 1600x1200 - Very small text and graphics icons, you can fit lots of stuff on the screen.
Widescreen
d. WXGA or WXGA+ - 1280x768/800 or 1440x900; Wider viewing version of XGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
e. WSXGA+ - 1680x1050; Wider viewing version of SXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
f. WUXGA - 1920x1200; Wider viewing version of UXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
either Standard-A, or Widescreen-D.
12) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
I'd like to try a glossy screen. Something with a nice picture and bright colors.
Build Quality and Design
13) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
sadly, yes.
14) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?
oh, a few years. As long as it'll keep on kickin'.
Notebook Components
15) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 160GB?
anywhere from 80GB and up.
16) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD-ROM, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-RW drive?
I'd like to have a multi-functional drive that will burn CD's and DVD's.
If you need any more information, don't hesistate to ask. Thanks!!

Re: I'm indecisive.. please help me out!
one notebook that you might like is the asus z35f....but it won't be able to game very well. or one of the asus a8 series (c9tech.com)
it's a shame that you didn't ask a few days sooner b/c there was a great deal on the asus w7j for $1300 at btotech.
you might want to look for notebook with a video card if you plan on gaming in the future. in that case, the hp dv6000t will probably be your best bet, unless you don't mind the stylings of the asus s96j, compal hel80, or dell e1505.

W3J would be nice, considering there aint any update to it, so the price would be lowered a bit. What u ll get is a core duo, not the newest but enuf.
